STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I would give this place zero stars if I could. THIS PLACE IS RIDICULOUSLY BAD. We went to this place on 8/7 around noon. We were a group of 4 and 2 people ordered spinach pies. We were served spinach pie that had lots of sand in it. When we requested our server that the food had contamination, he made a face like he was being bothered. He said he was going to call the manager. Some guy showed up and said "the manager is too busy and I can speak for the manager". We told him that the spinach pie was contaminated and he said would we like to replace our dish or would we prefer to take the dish back. So far so good. We said we would like them to take the dish away and we will not be paying for contaminated food. He said ok and got our check. The check had 10 dollars charge (5 dollars each for 2 people) for the spinach pie. So, we asked the manager to inquire about the charge. She informed us that the 5 dollars was for the salad that comes with the pie. Okaaaay! When we told her that the server took out salad away and did not let us eat the salad she suddenly became hostile. We requested her to speak to the owners and she said that she is also the owner of the establishment and asked to leave the premises immediately. When we asked her name and server's name and tried to take a picture she physically charged us and said "get out of my face". Definitely calling the Harford county health department and suing the place. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND PATRONIZING THIS ESTABLISHMENT.

Management of the restaurant is on the cheap. Charges to split a meal. Doesn't offer to refill water or coffee. Used to be a good place to hang out and talk. No more. Food is generally good and lots of it.

I have been eating here for years. Lately the service has become deplorable. The food portions are huge as always, but the taste and quality of anything other than breakfast food is not good. Several servers are very pleasant, but the management seems to feel that the sheer number of customers in the area make the restaurant immune of a bad reputation. I suggest skipping this place. That being said, if you want an omelette, it will likely get a passing grade. Stay away from the big meals such as pasta and definitely avoid any kind of steak.

Anyone that has eaten at a Double T would know that the portions are unnecessarily big, as is the menu. Actually the menu is more of a portfolio as its spiral bound and more than 3 pages long. This is usually worrysome as no place that is not attached to a market can possibly keep so many different foods fresh at all times. I used to come here with my parents as a kid and nothing has changed since. Now I only for breakfast with my girlfriend on occasion to split a large portion plate (even splitting there is still leftovers ). While I feel uneasy coming here seeing all the signs of a bad place to eat, the bang for your buck is hard to ignore when your eating out on a budget.

Food is always OK but the service is so bad the staff is never around and there are so many lol

A Ridiculous menu, ridiculous portion sizes, and subpar food--even for a diner. If you go, get diner food. I had some Greek entrees and ate less than half without taking a to-go box. I wish I would have had an omelet and a piece of pie. My food was borderline terrible and there was tons of it.

The food was sub-par at best and the service was terrible. One the employees was incredibly rude to me, even swearing at me and when I complained to the manager she took their side. It was one of the worst experiences I have had dining out.

3.5 Stars for Double-T ... as another reviewer states, you have to judge them on what they are - a Greek-style slightly divey diner. If you go there expecting a wonderful steak or seafood platter ... well, first you need to get your head examined, and you'll likely be disappointed. Honestly, I think places like the Double-T that offer vast menus and can't execute everything to a solid consistency should just trim their menu down to the core items. But those core items can be quite good. We stopped in with the in-laws for lunch Sunday. As usual - and is the case with most brunch places in the Bel-Air area, the place was PACKED. But not so much that we had to wait and we were seated within a couple of minutes. Service isn't the most cheery here - I can understand some of the reviews/complaints there - but it was generally efficient and polite. We started with soups ... my wife's panini came with the soup of the day, but she didn't like the option (chicken noodle). My wife wanted the maryland Crab soup but the server said there were no substitutions, and adding the Maryland Crab would be full price. But my father-in-law said he'd take the chicken noodle soup, so no issues there. Both soups were pretty nice - definitely homemade stuff. The Maryland Crab did seem to be a bit heavy on the Old Bay and light on the crab, but tasty nonetheless. For my entree, I debated on a few diner standards and settled on an old favorite - an open-faced hot roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes, and beets as my veggie. And it was great - the comfort food that I definitely was looking for. Mashed potatoes were homemade and very good, and the gravy was above par. My wife liked her tuna panini although I prefer my tuna salad to have some crunch into it - preferably with celery or pickles. She prefers her straight and thought it was good. The in-laws enjoyed their sandwiches, although my mother-in-law did feel they skimped on the sauerkraut on her "Cuban Reuben". We all thought that both the fries and the cole slaw were winners. I agree with the sentiment that service could be better. We waited a while to get our check while our server just stood at the front chatting with other servers. We were clearly finished and ready to go. We had some football to watch! But it wasn't "bad" service by any means. This is only the second time I've eaten at any Double-T diner - my first was at their Pasadena location, and it wasn't a pleasurable experience. This visit was good enough to have me wanting to come back again.

Saturday morning - Disappointing meal for myself but others in our group of 5 had meals that were ok. Theirs consisted of chocolate chip pancakes, chicken cordon bleu panini with shrimp bisque, philly cheese steak. Nothing special except the cheese steak was missing "hots" and had no sauce. As to my meal, ugh! I had the 2 egg special, added bacon, substituted applesauce for the American fries. Eggs were served on a cold plate, bacon was way overdone. Something I had never encountered before - the meat part of the bacon was so hard I was seriously afraid of chipping a tooth. It, obviously, had been way over cooked sometime earlier and wasn't even warm. Toast, what toast? Guess they forgot it. There was just no excuse for this meal; it was a travesty, a sin against food and a crime to serve that crap to a customer! I'm pretty sure this was not indicative of their norm but, holy cow, my meal was at the very nadir of quality. On my future visits to this area, Double T Diner will be preemptively eliminated as a choice.

We went on a Saturday morning and it was difficult to find parking. Once we got it we were seated immediately which was nice. I ordered 2 eggs, home fries, toast and a side of scrapple. 2 minutes after we ordered our food arrived and I could tell everything wasn't freshly made. I was told my scrapple would take an extra minute because they were heating it up. "heating it up? or cooking it?" When the scrapple came to the table it was evident that it was cooked earlier and probably microwaved. The eggs were fine and home fries we good too. Our waitress was terrible she rushed us, tried taking my place away before I was finished and was very short with us. I will not be back.

Husband and I were in MD checking out apartments for an upcoming move and we stopped here on a Saturday night. We were seated right away and our food came quickly. Everything was just average. He had baked stuffed shells and meatballs, I had spinach pie and shrimp bisque. Nothing was outstanding. Service was a little lacking- it felt like our server was avoiding us most of the time. Probably won't be going back.

Ugh. Since I'm guessing that that would not be good enough for a review, I'm going to go into more detail. Every aspect of this restaurant was disappointing, and I will not eat here again if I can avoid it. From an atmosphere standpoint, the restaurant seems to be going for a retro-50s kind of theme. That kind of decor is tacky to be sure, but can contribute positively to the reputation of the establishment. The main issue I had with the atmosphere was the noise. The restaurant was noisy to the point of not being able to have a normal conversation. I can handle a restaurant being noisy, particularly during rushes, but there is a limit to that. The food was nothing special, neither remarkably good nor remarkably bad. The lox and bagels are okay, the coffee is okay, everything is simply okay. Pricewise, the meal is slightly on the expensive, but not unforgivably so. Where this establishment truly disappoints is in the service. I can forgive a lot if the service is good, but this restaurant did not even come close to delivering good service. The waitress was slow and forgetful. Our food came slowly, and our waitress forgot to bring my friend his cream cheese, in spite of the fact that he asked her multiple times. Refills on coffee were sporadic at best, and overall the waitress seemed disinterested. Overall, every phase of this experience was below-average. I would not eat here again, and I recommend avoiding this place if at all possible.

The service here was very friendly, and the food came out quick. I ordered a pretty standard breakfast - 2 eggs over easy, toast, hash browns, and sausage. Both of the things I didn't like could possibly be regional, idk, but the hash browns weren't seasoned at all. The potatoes were sliced into discs, and were kind of mushed into a pile and some of them were slightly browned. Not what I think of at all. Toast came in whole slices, not cut in half, which was weird, but easy enough to get over. And the sausage didn't really have much flavor. I'll go back, but I won't order sausage again.

This place is always pretty busy and somehow I've never had to wait too long for a table. Right near what people that didn't grow up here consider down town it's close to all the shopping, so starting your day here is convenient. The food is usually good and the menu is just too huge to get through, I come here with a pretty clear idea of what I want so I don't get lost in the pages! An all around decent place, but not the small local breakfast cafe you sometimes want to enjoy.

I've never really been a fan but I'll still go whenever someone wants to...The menu is probably the biggest menu i've ever seen and you get huge huge huge portions but the quality is just kind of meh...My mom loves to eat here, so I guess some people love it and others hate it..

This Place gets pretty much zero stars. my grade really goes for this morning[wednesday, march 6th]. We tried to go on a Wednesday morning, we went in and were seated almost immediately. And waited, and waited, and waited. The only servers we saw, were too busy standing around in a circle, talking to each other about the snow storm we never got. Never once did we have a waitress or waiter come by our table and offer us coffee or drinks. We had one server walk the long way around our table to go to her tables at the other end. After about 15 to 20 minutes of waiting and no one even looking our way, we got up and just walked out. I will not go here again if I can help it. If I want crappy service I will go to McDonald's. And at least at McDonald's I can get a cup of coffee within five minutes of walking in the door. That seriously hurt their score. You don't have a breakfast crowd come in and not offer them coffee.

huge diner that is always busy. typical greasy spoon joint with OK food that is a little on the pricy side for diner fare. i got eggs benedict with hashbrowns. the eggs benedict were literally swimming in "hollandaise" sauce -- more like a yellow goopy pile of gelatinous liquid...tasteless and even after scraping it off it just grossed me out. hashbrowns were fairly tasty thankfully. others in my group seemed to like their choices and when i saw the table next to me have the french toast made with challah bread i was definitely envious. not sure if i just picked the one bad thing on the menu if it's always hit or miss. goodluck...

I can't believe no one has review this diner. It is always packed on the weekends. I love the Double T, all of the ones that I have been to have been a great experience. The menu is huge, breakfast and dinner. And the always accomodate for my mom. For breakfast, I normally get the Belgian Waffle.... my sister gets strawberry and cream pancakes, and my mom an egg-white omelet. They don't have turkey sausages like we like, but a little swine won't kill us here and there. Definitely go to a Double T if you see one and you're hungry. Oh and last but certainly not least.... the desserts in the windows are really and quite tasty. Must try at least once!

The server I had was very friendly but everyone else ,not so much. The gentleman at the register was a bit rough and you could smell he was a smoker. The hostess greeted us with "how many".I am a fan still and will go back again due to their decent food selection and huge menu.

This diner gets 3 stars mainly because it's consistent and efficient. Consistency is important to me, as it is I think most diners. I'd rather go to a place that has consistently decent food than a place that is hit or miss and can have great food some days and terrible food on others. I've been here very possibly over 25 times over the past few years and I have never had to wait long for a table, to be waited on, or even for my food. This is the same when they are completely busy with a full parking lot and when my friends and I are the only ones there. The wait staff has always been friendly and efficient and I can't ever recall having a particularly bad server. Now, on to the food. They have a very diverse and broad menu, so this is a good choice if you need satisfy a variety of palettes. The food is fine, if someone told you it was amazing they'd be exaggerating and the same applies if they said it was gross. Where this diner excels is their breakfast. The pancakes here are always delicious and the egg sandwiches are always made with an appropriate amount of butter on the toast-enough to keep everything moist but not too much that you notice it. Once you get to lunch and dinner the offerings become standard diner fair. As someone who considers themselves somewhat of a tuna sandwich connoisseur I can safely say that the tuna salad sandwiches are average, consistently average. It's not something to write home about but it gets the job done when you need a tuna on rye pronto. The fries are one of their weaker items in my opinion, though it seems harder and harder to find a good french fry these days. Anyway, the fries are just a bit mushy for my liking and seem to be greasier than some other establishments (though not unbearably so). Lastly, the physical establishment itself. Once again, nothing is impressive nor disappointing about the diner. It's all you can expect from an older, not modernized location. They keep everything looking clean and functional, which if you ask me is all we should expect out of our dining establishments but this is beside the point. It can get a bit loud at times though part of this is because it is a rather large establishment and they are almost always at least half full and often close to capacity. Thus, the place is a solid choice if you want a good breakfast or just access to a diverse variety of food. Prices are a little bit on the expensive side but I've always found the portions to be far more than I need so I think that makes up for it.

I really miss the days when Diners were like a second home. When you went in you were greeted like family, mom style food was always on the menu and no one let you leave without dessert. Now a days most, and I did say most, are like the chain restaurants. They have 1,000 items on the menu and most are pre-processed and heated in the microwave. We visited this Diner when my daughter had to have a blood sugar test done. She had to eat and wait about an hour before having her blood drawn again. The lady at the place we had it done said to go somewhere we could sit and eat. Stay away from Mickey D's and Burger King. She suggested Bob Evans...uh no. So my mom said "Lets try the diner down the street". I groaned. Come on bland, under heated breakfast. We didn't have to wait, which was good because we were on a time limit. Of course my little munchkin wanted to go directly for the Pancakes but I slowed her down. All that syrup during a sugar test, no. The server seated us and gave us our huge book style menus. You know the ones that take an hour to look through while the waiter taps his foot because you are taking your time. I always want to say " "Hey, if you don't want to wait cut your menu by 3/4." Of course my mom taught me manners, so I don't. It was relatively easy though this morning. My mom ordered tea and toast, my munchkin ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and home fries, and I ordered chip beef gravy over home fries instead of toast and coffee. My mom couldn't have went wrong if she tried so we won't talk about hers, lol. My munchkin enjoyed her meal even though she did say the home fries were gross. The eggs were done with no little white squigglys which makes both my kids sick. Also, she was upset that all she could find was grape jelly. We even looked on other tables, not a strawberry jelly to be seen. She said the bacon was yummy. All in all though she ate happily. My chipped beef was okay. There was plenty of it but it was bland. So I had to add Salt and Pepper. I hate adding salt and pepper to food AFTER it's been cooked. It doesn't taste the same. It was hot in some spots and other spots was cold. The home fries were little disc potatoes that weren't even brown. I could see why munchkin called them gross. All in all it was okay diner food. However, I don't think I will make a special trip to go there again. If you are in Bel-Air and everything is full to the max then I would suggest to come here.

They refuse to do fresh hard boiled eggs. They precook them in the morning. How hard can it be to make them fresh. We were willing to wait. So they have lost our business forever. We went down the road to Bob Evans and they don't to it either, but they were willing to go outside the box just to make the customer happy. We got our fresh hard boiled eggs. Thank you Bob Evans!

This place has one of the largest menus I've ever seen. They are always busy and well staffed. As far as the food, it is diner food. It is above your dive diners but it is still a diner. So don't go expecting the best food you've ever tasted. Go expecting huge portions of deliciously unhealthy food. It is Greek themed so the menu does have that twist to it. I think people need to remember it is a diner though, so avoid ordering seafood or big dinners thinking you'll be happy. Stick to wraps, sandwiches, gyros, etc. The fries here are really good. I also really like their soups, especially their french onion. With that being said, I have had a couple of wraps and the gyro. I have no complaints about anything I've ordered here. I always leave full and I get what I expect. Service is quick and you can get in and out pretty quickly. It is very moderately priced too. Breakfast here is always packed, and for good reason. So much food so early. They serve it all day too. It is relatively inexpensive especially for what you get. Their pancakes are really good. Just remember it is busy and is set up to serve lots amounts of people, especially families. You'll likely see tables of 12 or so people, usually with a bunch of kids, so don't expect a quiet dinner. It is a cheap dinner option so it appeals to a lot of families who need to feed their kids. Personally, I like this place for lunch. And one last thing, try the desserts. They're on display in the front and they're delicious.

Anytime you see a menu with this many items on it - beware!. The service was great and fast, but the food is terrible. Wife got a burger that was so so. The spaghetti with sauce was ordered by two in our party and both complained of an odd taste. I got the pastrami and was the worst I have ever had, and even the fries were poor. OK, there was a lot of desserts in the case, so we decide to see if it could save the visit. We were wrong, the cake my daughter got, definitely had an odd taste to the icing, and none of the other desserts were even worth eating. You could get better desserts at any grocery store in town.

Haven't ate here since I had hair in my soup and a dead bug on my plate. I always ate here and the waitress took food back and stood around texting for 20 minutes. I told the manager about the problems and he seemed not to care at all. Be careful if you still eat here. The stories are true.
